The program aims to engage trainees with topics related to the environment, climate change, and their impact on culture, approaching them through a broad, contemporary, theoretical, scientific, and technological framework.
Upon successful completion of the course, the trainee will be able to:
  • Identify the basic principles of the most significant environmental risks to cultural monuments.
  • Analyze new data and literature on environmental education, sustainable development, and the degradation of artworks.
  • Recognize and interpret various deteriorations resulting from environmental factors.
  • Utilize appropriate equipment for studying, analyzing, and recording environmental conditions (humidity, temperature, radiation).
  • Identify the various techniques and methods required for recording the pathology of monuments.
  • Explain the contribution of cultural environment to sustainable development.

The program is aimed at:

  • Professionals in the fields of education, culture, management, and protection of cultural heritage. Indicatively, educators of all levels, environmental engineers, engineers, archaeologists, historians, conservators of antiquities, restorers, digital engineers, museum educators, and collection curators are mentioned.
  • Professionals in theoretical and applied sciences who seek further training and explore integrating their profession with the field of culture. Indicatively mentioned are graduates of teaching schools, chemical engineers and materials engineers, geoinformatics scientists, and application designers.
  • Undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral students of the above disciplines.
