The Escola de Hotelaria de Fátima organized an International Vocational Education Workshop, which was attended by IEK Horizon with representatives Tina Giannakea - Adult Educator and European Programs Manager, and Panagiotis Brezerakos - Adult Educator.
On April 29 and 30, more than forty participants from Armenia, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Spain, Finland, Greece, Italy, and the Netherlands discussed various topics related to Vocational Education as part of the Erasmus+ TEF – Tourism Education of the Future program.
The opening session was held in the presence of Counselor Isabel Costa, Vice President of the Municipal Council of Ourém, Purification Reis, President of ACISO Associação Empresarial Ourém Fátima, and Elisabete Marques from the Technical Pedagogical Directorate of the Hotel School of Fátima.
Various topics were discussed such as Microcredentials, one of the new forms of Skills Certification, Artificial Intelligence to be used in Education and Training, Virtual Reality in the classroom, and student burnout and wellbeing.
During the workshops and talks, participants shared numerous experiences and best practices that teachers can use in their daily teaching to bring students from vocational courses closer to the job market.
During the workshop, there was a tour of the Medieval Castle of Ourém and the Sanctuary of Fátima.
